I have to confess that every time one of my brides had a dress made by Lebanese designer I was pretty excited to see the gown! The truth is designers from the Middle East have been fascinating women who love embroidery and glamorous fabrics for a long time. The good news is that you do not always have to fly to purchase them as these stylists can be found in their New York, Paris or London flagships. Chances are that you have a resale store in your area. But in case you don’t, you can still get inspired by these cutting-edge dresses. I have chosen my top 5 designers from the Middle East so let’s get to know their styles and recent collections better. Shall we?
.
Reem Acra
The Lebanese stylist Reem Acra was recently a mentor for aspiring fashion designers on a fashion reality show in the Middle East. Her embroidered, textured and layered wedding dresses are almost always worn by a celebrity at the Oscars, Grammys and Golden Globes, such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry and Selena Gomez. Reem Acra’s collections can be found at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in the United States. After all, I particularly loved the Pretty in Pink dress from her 2021 bridal collection. Isn’t that shade beautiful?
Elie Saab
Considered one of the most well-known Lebanese designers, Elie Saab, has already dressed Beyonce, Lily Collins, Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson and Mila Kunis. His haute-couture dresses resemble the garments of princesses, which are extremely adorned. One of his exclusive dresses was the one he designed for his daughter-in-law at his son’s wedding in 2019.
And as for his new 2021 collection, I fell in love with the romantic “Look 9”. Check it out below:
Rami Kadi
Rami Kadi is a young American-Lebanese designer who mixes trends from the West and the East. We can see in his collections that he uses a lot of “handcrafted” work, an art he is extremely passionate about.
Zuhair Murad
Another highly sought-after Lebanese designer is Zuhair Murad. The designer is famous for his large detachable skirts, a pretty useful feature for a bride who looks for a huge bridal dress without compromising on her freedom to party on her wedding day. For 2021 he created a sensual collection, always dramatic with well-defined silhouettes, lace, embroidery, ruffles and drapes in tulle, chiffon and organza.
Yasmine Yeya
Up to now it seems that the Lebanese dominate the bridal scene in the Middle-East but now we are going to talk about the Egyptian stylist Yasmine Yeya. She produces romantic and luxurious dresses celebrated on the red carpets of Cannes, Tribeca, Cairo and Dubai film festivals. The designer is always inspired by the classic yet modern style. From the 2021 collection I was enchanted by “Les Valenciennes”. And, of course, I liked the pink dress 🙂
I hope you have enjoyed! And without a doubt these wonderful dresses would perfectly match a destination wedding in a palace with Wedding Luxe, don’t you think?
